The Glory Hole Waterfall - mid-April
This natural formation is a unique conspiracy of stone and water. It must have taken countless years for just the right combination of water flow plus swirling sand and gravel to etch this nearly perfect circular drain, about four feet in diameter, through several yards of stone before opening onto a nearly 30-foot drop.
Proving yet again that it's better to be lucky than smart, we just happened to show up on a day where the rate of water flow and angle of the sun produced a fantastic rainbow in the mist from the falls.
It's a relatively easy hike, but the location of the trail head is not well marked. More information is available here: http://www.buffaloriverchamber.com/attraction_glory_hole.html#axzz2Y9csLy2P
