Serviceberry Blossoms

One of the first reliable signs of springtime in the Ozarks is the appearance of Serviceberry (that's "Sarvis Berry" according to the old-timers who, for better or worse, allowed me to grow up...) blossom. Those trees you see up on the hillsides all covered up in little white flowers at the first touch of spring? That's the one. Redbud and dogwood are not far behind once the serviceberry blooms appear.
