Butterfly Pea

Butterfly Pea in bloom - Early August, along Ogden Creek

Blooms in all stages, from unopened buds to "just about used up". Look for blue to violet blossoms, 1.5 to about 2.25 inches long, on ground-level vines in well-drained soils. This one was found on a west-facing hillside in sandy soil.
