Briar Rose (rosa rubiginosa), ready to bloom. Arriving on the heels of the June 1st, 2013 thunderstorms, they were a common sight away from paved roads the following day.

There's just enough wind motion in the sepals on this bud to make it interesting -- it's like the rose is saying "Wait for it..."
