Dwarf Crested Iris
Dwarf Crested Iris (Iris Cristata) - Upper Ogden Creek, near Pettigrew AR.
Common throughout the Ozarks, this native wildflower is fond of rocky, sandy soil on hillsides near water.
Colors range from almost pure white with blue accents to deep violet. Despite the violet cast to this bud, the surrounding open blossoms in this particular colony are primarily white.
