Farm ponds serve as much more than water reservoirs for livestock - an entire ecosystem establishes itself around each one. Many provide habitat for migratory waterfowl. This mother wood duck was busy exercising her young until she finally took notice of the two-legged creature stalking them from the edge of the pond, then promptly steered the team to cover in the background vegetation.
