Joel C. Kaylor and Martha Jane Kendrick were among the early settlers of Madison County.  Clifton, one of their nine children, passed away in 1916 -- possibly of the influenza pandemic which swept the country that year.  <br />

There's deep history in these old country cemeteries.  Late afternoon lighting on the monument made a compelling image.<br />
